Food With Benefits's (FWB) mission is to repurpose food that is usually discarded during the early stages of production because it does not meet the aesthetic standards required for sale, as well as prevent food from spoilage in the supply chain or at stores and transform it into nutritious products with health-promoting properties. The shake-and-go smoothie is indeed one of the key sustainable products that Food With Benefits has developed. To achieve this form, Food With Benefits has adopted the most advanced drying technology, freeze-drying. This process preserves all the nutrients from the initial fruits while significantly extending the shelf life of the final product. This makes the final product indistinguishable from a freshly-made smoothie once dissolved in water. Additionally, FWB smoothies come in specially designed packaging with triple-layer walls that prevent moisture and oxygen from entering, thereby contributing to the extension of the shelf life. Each sachet of FWB smoothie contains only natural fruits and veggies, and holds all the required food safety certifications as well as certifications for highest quality manufacturing compliant with the most advanced hygiene standards. With a net weight of 37g, each sachet is equivalent to around 300g of fresh fruits. This means that by consuming only one sachet of our berry smoothie, each customer contributes towards saving 300g of fruits that would have otherwise gone to waste. Moreover, Food With Benefits has calculated the carbon footprint of each step involved in manufacturing the smoothies and compared it with the conventional path of the fruits. As a result, we can confidently say that each sachet saves 25kg of carbon emissions*. Upon purchasing one set of 8 smoothies, each customer contributes towards saving 200kg of carbon emissions and 2.4kg of fruits. In addition to being a delicious and sustainable option, each smoothie sachet is packed with a host of essential nutrients that offer numerous health benefits. Berry Bomb, for instance, is an excellent source of dietary fiber, potassium, Vitamin C, B6 and magnesium, all of which play a crucial role in maintaining optimal health. The dietary fiber present in FWB smoothies helps regulate digestion and promotes healthy gut bacteria, while the potassium content supports healthy heart function. Vitamin C and B6 are vital for a robust immune system, and magnesium plays a key role in supporting healthy bones and muscles.
