- 01Food With Benefits (FWB) is a food-tech company incubated at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP), and it creates science‑backed, whole‑food smoothies using upcycled surplus fruits and vegetables. Our products are designed to deliver real‑food nutrients like fibre, vitamins and minerals, not just isolated protein or empty calories. We combine nutrition, convenience and sustainability in one product.
- 02“Upcycled” means we rescue high‑quality, freshly grown fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be wasted due to over-supply or cosmetic imperfections. These ingredients are still perfectly fresh and then processed in certified facilities under strict food safety standards. Most importantly, our technology extends the shelf life of fruits to over a year while preserving their nutrients. The result is a fresh fruit mix that will not go spoiled – with a lower environmental footprint.
- 03FWB smoothies are nutrient‑dense snacks or light meal add‑ons, not full meal replacements. One sachet gives the equivalent of around 1–2 servings of fruits/vegetables, plus fibre and functional ingredients, in under a minute of preparation. You can pair them with other foods (e.g. yogurt, toast, eggs) for a complete meal.
- 04The answer is yes, if you're one of the following: Struggle to eat enough fruits and vegetables daily Runners and active individuals who want clean, whole‑food options around training Pilates and yoga enthusiasts seeking a nutritional drink supporting muscle recovery. Busy professionals who need quick but real nutrition Care about sustainability and reducing food waste
- 05Food With Benefits smoothies are "real fruits in a sachet": the convenience of a powder with the nutritional spirit of a homemade smoothie. It is a premium, value‑added product that offers whole‑food benefits and sustainability credentials, not a cheapest‑per‑gram protein commodity.
